As one looks through this website, the thought "what is a hebraic community" probably will come to mind.
The written word of the most high God Yahweh, was and is written in a language called Hebrew. With few slight variations through history, the Hebrew language has maintained the integrity of the mind of God and His intentions for mankind. Many people have begun a journey to find answers that will help their faith and make them stronger as a person, with answers that can only come from Yahweh's word. Yet over the centuries varying translations, the English language, cultures, etc., have caused the integrity of the meanings of what the scriptures are actually saying to be lost. Let us take a look at the english word "car". In the 1800's this word was used to describe a horse drawn wagon. In our modern language, if we pulled up with a horse and wagon and said we needed a place to park our car, there would certainly be a lot of stares if not laughter. The discovery of God’s word is much the same way as thousands of years of languages have been muddled up with man's doctrines; built within cultures that do not always represent the intent of Gods writings. NKJ Proverbs 25:2 "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter." And so the search begins.
The word Hebrew itself can shed light on this subject. "Hebrew" comes from the word found in your strong’s concordance:
5680 Ibriy {ib-ree'} Meaning: Hebrew = "one from beyond" n pr 1) a designation of the patriarchs and the Israelites adj 2) a designation of the patriarchs and the Israelites and leads to the primitive word 5674 abar {aw-bar'} Meaning: 1) to pass over or by or through, alienate, bring, carry, do away, take, take away, transgress 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to pass over, cross, cross over, pass over, march over, overflow, go over.
So it could be said that a Hebrew is one who has come from somewhere else and crossed over?Who is the first known Hebrew? Abraham. Why and what did he cross over? What did you do when you accepted Christ? Did you cross over from afar by faith in Yeshua and to what purpose?Have you now walked into a kingdom that requires one to walk in faith as Abraham? Does this walk of faith include the promises given to Abraham?
CJB Genesis 22:17 "I will most certainly bless you; and I will most certainly increase your descendants to as many as there are stars in the sky or grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants will possess the cities of their enemies, 18 and by your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed - because you obeyed my order." And to Jacob it is said in CJB Genesis 27:29 "May peoples serve you and nations bow down to you. May you be lord over your kinsmen, let your mother's descendants bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be everyone who blesses you!"
We then see Yahweh Changing Jacobs name to reflect again who He was and what His plan is. CJB Genesis 32:29 says "Then the man said, "From now on, you will no longer be called Ya'akov, but Isra'el; because you have shown your strength to both God and men and have prevailed."
Strongs 3478 Yisra'el {yis-raw-ale'} Meaning: Israel = "God prevails" 1) the second name for Jacob given to him by God after his wrestling with the angel at Peniel 2) the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob 2a) the name of the nation until the death of Solomon and the split 2b) the name used and given to the northern kingdom consisting of the 10 tribes under Jeroboam; the southern kingdom was known as Judah 2c) the name of the nation after the return from exile at this point we see the father distinguishing a people that points to him the Creator of the heavens and the earth. What glory, honor and privilege to be called by a name with such distinction. Let’s take a closer look. In the Hebrew language there are root words that others like Israel are taken from. Here are 2 root words for Israel 8280 hr'f' sarah {saw-raw'} Meaning: 1) contend, have power, contend with, persist, exert oneself, persevere 1a) (Qal) to persevere, contend with 0410 lae 'el {ale} Meaning: 1) god, god-like one, mighty one 1a) mighty men, men of rank, mighty heroes.
As we watch this story unfold, Abba begins to show His plan by using a family that is willing to follow him in faith. Are we to see this as something past and irrelevant or are we to embrace this as our heritage? Again let us take a look in His word. In leviticus, Moses is speaking to all the Israelites:
NIV Leviticus 26:33 "I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste, and your cities will lie in ruins. 34 Then the land will enjoy its sabbath years all the time that it lies desolate and you are in the country of your enemies; then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths. 35 All the time that it lies desolate, the land will have the rest it did not have during the sabbaths you lived in it. 36 "'As for those of you who are left, I will make their hearts so fearful in the lands of their enemies that the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. They will run as though fleeing from the sword, and they will fall, even though no one is pursuing them. 37 They will stumble over one another as though fleeing from the sword, even though no one is pursuing them. So you will not be able to stand before your enemies. 38 You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will devour you. 39 Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their fathers' sins they will waste away. 40 "'But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their fathers-- their treachery against me and their hostility toward me, 41 which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies-- then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, 42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land. 43 For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees. 44 Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them. I am the LORD their God. 45 But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the LORD.'" 46 These are the decrees, the laws and the regulations that the LORD established on Mount Sinai between himself and the Israelites through Moses.
Strongs 1285 beriyth {ber-eeth'} Meaning: 1) covenant, alliance, pledge 1a) between men 1a1) treaty, alliance, league (man to man) 1a2) constitution, ordinance (monarch to subjects) 1a3) agreement, pledge (man to man) 1a4) alliance (of friendship) 1a5) alliance (of marriage) 1b) between God and man 1b1) alliance (of friendship) 1b2) covenant (divine ordinance with signs or pledges) 2) (phrases) 2a) covenant making 2b) covenant keeping 2c) covenant violation.
This in turn leads us to the primitive root word in the brown, drivers, concordance H1254 which means to create, shape. NKJ Genesis 22:16 says: "By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son."
This covenant was with Himself, so it cannot be broken or changed and has to be fulfilled. So now we see a created, shaped, formed pledge by the Creator of the heavens and earth to watch over a family and bring the things He Himself promised to pass. Through history we see this family struggling, failing and being scattered. We see this family being torn apart by jealousies, and misunderstandings about their responsibilities, and we see the Creator's faithful promises to gather and return this family from exile. Nehemiah 1:8,9, Isaiah 11:11-13, 43:5,6, 54:7,8, Jeremiah 23:3, 29:13,14, 31:8, Ezekiel 20:41, 34:13-15, 37:21 Micah 2:12, 4:6,7, Zephaniah 3;20, 10:7-9, Matthew 10:5,6, 15:24, 19:28, Acts1:6,7, Romans 10:21-11:2, 25-28, Hebrews 8:8-10, Revelations 21:12
NIV Ezekiel 36:24 "'For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.24 "'For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28 You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God. 29 I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. 30 I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine. 31 Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices. 32 I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign LORD. Be ashamed and disgraced for your conduct, O house of Israel! 33 "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt. 34 The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. 35 They will say, "This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited." 36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the LORD have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.' 37 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Once again I will yield to the plea of the house of Israel and do this for them: I will make their people as numerous as sheep, 38 as numerous as the flocks for offerings at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts. So will the ruined cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD."
Here we see again the Father's faithfulness to Himself (His covenant), showing His willing and loving hand toward the northern tribes known as Ephriam. At this time we have already seen Judah (the southern kingdom) being restored to the land, yet many, who are part of Ephraim, are still scattered and do not know their heritage. However, there are others, who are part of the northern tribes who are now learning of their lost heritage.
It is at this point that we here at Hebraic Communities of New Mexico hope to be of service. Across the world, people like yourself are discovering their heritage in the covenant of Abraham, renewed through Yeshua the Messiah (still by faith). Our hope is to connect you with the rest of the family (community) through this website, conferences, inviting and announcing teachers who are coming to NM, finding fellowships in your area, local teachings, and being willing to do what the Spirit of the Lord shows us to do to bring encouragement and build the faith of those who are striving to Love Him and obey his commandments.
John 14:15 says that If we love Him, we will obey His commandments. We hope that you will feel comfortable to contact us with your needs. We will do our best to help you or send you in a direction that might help serve your needs and help one another obey His voice.
Blessings In Messiah,
